In this lovely novel, we explore how bonds of friendship, family, and the connections to our past can influence the definition of who we are. Close friends who gather regularly for a book group are curious about each other’s history and purchase ancestry testing kits as a fun gift. The results of Polly Goodman’s test are completely unexpected and challenge everything she thought she knew about herself and her family. Life can sure knock us around, and we don’t always know where the journey will take us . . . how ever uncomfortable the ride might become . . . we may still end up exactly where we need to be.

I highly recommend this book for fans of emotionally layered stories and domestic drama.
