A twisty, suspenseful investigation into the Gomez case . . . a quiet man with a mysterious past, connections to a gang, and now a prime suspect after a small-time criminal was gunned down in the street. Unfortunately, Tomas Gomez has vanished, leaving behind more questions than answers. Who is this Tomas Gomez? Bob Oz is a troubled police officer who becomes obsessed with finding out the extent of Gomez’s guilt and seeking justice. Bob discovers that to hunt a killer down, you must crawl inside their head, into their process . . . and that to look deep into the complex mind of a killer can be maddening.
Nesbo did a great job building this plot and the high-stakes ending. I highly recommend this book; it’s a must-read for fans of dark crime thrillers.
I thank NetGalley and the publisher for an advanced copy of Wolf Hour for my unbiased evaluation. 5 stars
