Ellen McKenna is a proud Texan who faces the hardships of running a family farm in the wake of her husband’s death. Ellen protects her ground, animals, and children while bravely locking horns with a greedy corporation trying to buy up all the local land. She has turned down several offers … no does not seem to be an answer Verdacorp is willing to take. On the horizon, the sky is getting angry, and the water will rise along with the pressure Ellen and her family are under.
I recommend this book to fans of high-tension suspense and domestic drama. This author’s style reminded me a little of Nora Roberts.
I’d like to thank NetGalley for an advanced copy of Whisper Creek for my unbiased evaluation. 3.5 stars
