Don’t let the title chase you off. This novel is not your average slasher story . . . it was a really fun read for me, and I think this will be a great book club pick! The characters are well-developed, the twists are unexpected, and the plot goes beyond the revenge-meets-final-girl plotline that it seemed at first glance. Three girls discover they are dating the same douche, and their plan to get even goes a little sideways, to say the least. This book was everything I needed it to be. Let the discussion begin.
I highly recommend this book for anyone who has been let down by love or deeply desires to bond or reconnect with good friends. For me…the prevailing message I walked away with is that when the dust settles, all we have are our besties to get us through the toughest times. Hold your people close.
I thank NetGalley and the publisher for an advanced copy of Cross My Heart, I Hope You Die for my unbiased evaluation. 5 stars
