I believe this is the final installment of this trilogy. This last novel felt very Saturday morning . . . as if a group of Care Bears, who are also foodies and social media influencers, moved into a haunted manor to challenge an evil witch’s reign. There is page after page of fashion, art, food, adventure, romance, and friendship. Some of this I found to be fairly entertaining, occasionally eliciting a chuckle or two. At times, the narrative was a bit too light for me . . . padded with unnecessary fluff and not enough of the substance that made much of this series rich and compelling. Overall, I did enjoy meeting and learning about these characters and following the harrowing plight of the Poole family to its conclusion.
I recommend this book and the entire series to fans of mildly dark suspense, Cozy Mysteries, and Domestic Drama.
I thank NetGalley and the publisher for an advanced copy of The Seven Rings for my unbiased evaluation. 3.5 stars
